[The Milkman]

this was a really fun watch. the style is great, and the story was fun too, as well as the character designs. however, the animation was unnatural and janky and there were many technical mistakes.
i reccomend you work on the principle of slow in/ slow out, as much of the jankyness is caused by the movements of the characters having no easing in or out, abruptly going from one pose to another with minimal smears that wernt well placed and worsened the effect. the timing also wasnt great and the lipsincs rarely sinc up. also try to remember the way limbs move in relation to one another. when someone breathes, not only their shoulders move up, but their arms and torso do too.
theres many mistakes with the way the camera is panned and the backgrounds lined up. i noticed a couple scenes having white boarders, and also the camera panning was janky as well, similarily do to the lack of slow in/slow out.
but i really enjoyed it and i really love the picture chosen as the thumbnail too cuz that drew me in

I 100 percent agree with you. I do wish I had an extra month to smooth everything out and add more secondary motion in scenes that needed it.

animaton itself is a little still, maybe could use more easing into and push back into the final poses? the timing from key pose to key pose itself is well done but maybe the stiffness and inconsistency of inbetweens is the problem. especially that first scene where she slides on the floor is awkward. the anatomy and perspective are extrmeely great however and the colors are BEAUTIFUL. as well as the backgrounds

Hey thanks for the critique man yeah I really struggled with timing the key frames and in betweens, I might’ve needed to add a few more frames of easing to really sell it but I was under a bit of a time crunch. And thanks i wanted a vibrant look for the color palette, i initially thought I went a lil overboard with the colors but I’m glad you like it. Like I said before this was my first fully colored animation so I’m glad with how it came out.

i have nothing against limited animation but i'd reccomend a higher fps if you're gonna use this technique as it doesnt really add too much workload and it ends up looking much less choppy. not that higher fps always means smooth, but in this case i just think it would work better. the sound effects are a nice touch but honestly i cant tell whats really going on story-wise here.

thats not an animatic. animatics are just sketches, this is fully polished. this could maybe be considered PMV or limited animation. (not to be a grammar nazi, this is just a pet peeve of mine)
